Kali Bari Chhindwara

Kalibari Chhindwara (কালীবাড়ি ছিন্দওয়ারা) is a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Kali and the center for Bengali people & Bengali culture in Chhindwara. Established in 1995s, it is situated on Mandir Marg, Deendayal Puram Dharam Tekri very close to Govt. Autonomous PG College Chhindwara. The deity in the temple is Maa Kali. On the occasion of Kali Puja, devotees gather at the temple for worship. Various festivals like Bengali New Year, Ravindra Jayanti, Shri Ram Krishna Jayanti, Vivekananda Jayanti are organized at here. Bengali people of Chhindwara District also arrange various get together and cultural programs.

==History==
After several years of demands by the burgeoning expatriate Bengali population, land was allotted on the new Mandir Marg (temple road) Deendayal Puram.
Like any major rivers originating as a small stream, Kali Bari Nirman Samiti, Chhindwara also had a humble beginning. In 1995, when a group of enthusiastic young stars of Bengali Durga Puja Committee Chhindwara, the oldest Bengali cultural organization of the district, take initiative with an objective for constructing a Kali temple at Chhindwara.
Overcoming various difficulties, legal, financial and other associated hurdles they managed a piece of land at Deendayalpuram near PG College for this purpose in that year and started prayer, every morning and evening in from of a photo of Maa Kali under a makeshift small room.
Subsequently with the overwhelming support and participation of all residents of district, a marvel idol of Maa Kali was installed in place of photo. Thus membres were inching towards to their cherished dream of having a full-fledged Kali temple at the location.
